Is That Catsuit Orinated From Anime?

I am not sure since when people have started to wear catsuits.Today,I found many catsuits in early anime.You can see in the first picture the girl wears a grey catsuit that is shiny while in the second picture the girl wears the same style and black catsuit.

So I was wondering if catsuit originated from anime?So I searched some information but still can not be sure about the answer.

Anybody knows?Catsuits must have some connection to anime and cosplay which I am quite sure now.
